The butterflies and flowers are needle felted using natural sheep's wool, sewn securely to the hoop.

These butterflies are based on the patterning of the Blue Morpho butterfly found in the tropical forests of Latin America.  The intricate black embroidery further enhances the wing design; there is a daisy-like flower behind the butterfly for added colour contrast and to complete the earring design.
 
These are handmade and took so long to get the intricate details right that I will not replicate this design - hence it is a truely unique and exquisite piece of art.
